Abstract:
To provide a parking spot detection system capable of integrating parking spot information into a map in order to automatically find an appropriate parking spot.SOLUTION: A parking spot detection system comprises: a detection device; a map database; and a processing device. The detection device collects position data and intensity data for a plurality of data points in an environment space. The map database provides map data. The processing device is coupled to the detection device and the map database, and determines whether or not a geometric shape formed by adjacent data points is of a parking space on the basis of intensity data for the data points. If it is determined that the geometric shape is of the parking space, the processing device further integrates positions of the geometric shape and the parking space in to the map data on the basis of the position data for the data points.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
