To provide a mechanism that can reduce a processing load on communication.SOLUTION: When a video displayed in a standby room display area 1005 of a communication screen 1000 is selected, an information processing apparatus determines whether a client terminal 101 enters a main room, and when the client terminal enters the room, transmits a standby room switching command 701 to the main room; the client terminal 101 exits from the main room and enters a standby room, reduces the resolution and the frame rate of video data obtained by photographing with a camera, and distributes the video data to the standby room.
