Abstract:
To provide a sheet metal press method for a cylindrical body for a spring connector in which a contact pin comprises a smoothly slidable opening end face.SOLUTION: With use of a movable die type press metal mold, a cutting position C, at which a cylindrical body 2 is cut from a metal strip 1, is so made as to be a position on an inner side by only a small dimension with respect to an opening end face 2a of the cylindrical body 2. A cut end face portion 2c remaining on the opening end face 2a of the cylindrical body 2, which is obtained after cutting, becomes a concaved cut end face which retracts to an inner side by only a small dimension with respect to the opening end face. The cut end face portion 2c retracts by only a small dimension with respect to other portions of the opening end face 2a. Burr or the like of the cut end face portion 2c does not project outward with respect to the opening end face 2a. It can be resolved that smooth slide of a contact pin inserted in the cylindrical body is blocked due to the cut end face portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
