Abstract:
To provide novel glycan conjugates and use methods thereof.SOLUTION: The disclosure relates to a method and a composition for modulating globo-series glycosphingolipid synthesis. In particular, the disclosure is directed to glycoenzyme-inhibiting compounds and compositions and use methods thereof capable of modulating the synthesis of globo-series glycosphingolipid SSEA3/SSEA4/GloboH in the biosynthetic pathway, and use methods thereof. Particularly, the glycoenzyme inhibitors target the alpha-4GalT; beta-4GalNAcT-I; or beta-3GalT-V enzymes in the globo-series synthetic pathway. Further, the disclosure is directed to vaccines, antibodies, and/or immunogenic conjugate compositions targeting the SSEA3/SSEA4/GloboH associated epitopes (natural and modified) which elicit production of antibodies and/or binding fragment thereof useful for modulating the globo-series glycosphingolipid synthesis.SELECTED DRAWING: None
