Abstract:
To provide a motor drive device which can appropriately cause a winding short circuit.SOLUTION: The motor drive device includes: an inverter which drives a motor with upper and lower arms connected between a pair of DC buses; a control circuit which repeats a short-circuit operation which short circuits the winding of the motor if a DC bus voltage generated between the DC buses reaches a first threshold, by switching one arm out of the upper and lower arms, and a cancellation operation which cancels the short-circuit operation if the DC bus voltage reaches a second threshold lower than the first threshold; and a speed detector unit which detects the speed of the motor. The control circuit corrects the first threshold according to the motor speed detected by the speed detector unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
