Abstract:
To cause a robot to avoid an obstacle while increasing opportunities of communication between the robot and a user as much as possible.SOLUTION: A processor determines, when a first sensor detects an obstacle, which of a plurality of behavior types a behavior type that a robot is executing is by referring to a memory, determines a type of the obstacle detected by the first sensor, determines either a first behavior for increasing an opportunity for an interaction with a user or a second behavior for responding to the obstacle based on the type of behavior that the robot is executing when the first sensor detects the obstacle and the type of the obstacle detected by the first sensor, and controls the robot so as to cause it to execute the determined behavior.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
