Abstract:
To provide a technique for using a program to utilize a specific function of an image processing device in an image processing system that is capable of performing image processing with a general-purpose image processing program.SOLUTION: A printing system 100 with a PC 1 and a printer 2, in which a general-purpose printing program 41 is built into an OS 40 of the PC 1, and when the OS 40 of the PC 1 accepts instructions to add the printer 2, a signal requesting capability information is sent to the printer 2 by IPP, the printer 2, in response to reception of a signal from the PC 1 requesting capability information by IPP, obtains application information that is information about a vendor application 33 from a server 3, and responds to the PC 1 with the application information, and when the PC 1 receives the application information from the printer 2, the PC 1 causes the OS 40 to display a screen for accepting instructions to access the address indicated by the application information to a user IF 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
