Abstract:
To provide a catalyst article for treating lean burn engine exhaust gas.SOLUTION: A catalyst article contains a honeycomb base material, and a wash coat arranged thereon, in which the wash coat contains one or more baked platinum group metal components that are dispersed on a carrier of a fire-resistant metal oxide including alumina, silica, zirconia, titania and a physical mixture thereof or a chemical combination such as atomic doping, the wash coat is arranged on the honeycomb base material, an average fine crystal size of the platinum group metal component is within a range of approximately 10 nm to approximately 25 nm, when the exhaust gas passes through the honeycomb base material having the catalyst, a stable NO2/NOX ratio is obtained. There are also provided a method for treating exhaust gas from a lean burn engine, and a system for removing a contaminant from a lean burn engine exhaust gas flow containing NOX.SELECTED DRAWING: None
