Abstract:
To provide a nuclear power plant capable of supplying cooling water into a containment vessel without requiring a power source before a molten core is dropped.SOLUTION: A nuclear power plant includes: a reactor vessel; a containment vessel for containing the reactor vessel; a water supply pipe for supplying water to a lower part of the reactor vessel in the containment vessel; a stop cock structure for closing a water supply opening arranged below the reactor vessel in the water supply pipe and opening the water supply pipe when tension from the outside of the water supply pipe detaches the stop cock structure from the water supply opening; a rope-like body, one end of which is connected to the stop cock structure; a weight which is suspended on the other end opposite to the stop cock structure in the rope-like body; and a rope-like body fixing member which is constituted of a low melting point material and which fixes an intermediate part of the rope-like body at a position close to an outer wall of the reactor vessel. Tension due to self-weight of the weight is applied to the stop cock structure via the rope-like body in a state where the low melting point material constituting the rope-like body fixing member is molten.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
