Abstract:
To provide an image coding method and apparatus and an image decoding method and apparatus.SOLUTION: An image coding method includes: performing feature extraction for image data waiting to be processed by using a convolutional neural network; generating a feature map of the image data; performing quantization for the feature map to generate a discrete feature map; performing pre-processing for the discrete feature map to generate pre-processing data, wherein the data amount of the pre-processing data is smaller than the data amount of the discrete feature map; calculating the probability of data waiting for coding in the discrete feature map based on the pre-processing data; and performing entropy coding for the data waiting for coding based on the probability of the data waiting for coding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
