Abstract:
To effectively compensate for the stress of a display device.SOLUTION: A method for stress compensation in a display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: accumulating, with an adder, a brightness value of images displayed by the display device to generate an accumulated brightness value; encoding, with an encoder, the accumulated brightness value to store a protected portion of the accumulated brightness value; compressing, with a compressor, the accumulated brightness value to generate a compressed accumulated brightness value; storing, with the compressor, the compressed accumulated brightness value in a memory; retrieving and decompressing, with a decompressor, the compressed accumulated brightness value to generate a decompressed value; and decoding, with a decoder, the decompressed value based on the protected portion to generate a decoded value corresponding to the accumulated brightness value and having a compression noise lower than the decompressed value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2C
