Abstract:
To estimate the position of a wireless device with good accuracy.SOLUTION: A position estimating device 1 estimates the position of a wireless communication instrument RD that outputs a signal. The position estimating device 1 comprises: a distance estimation unit 11 for estimating, on the basis of received signal strengths RSSI1-RSSI4, the actual distances D1-D4 between wireless access points AP1-AP4 that receive a signal and the wireless communication instrument RD and making these as estimated distances D1e-D4e; a first position estimation unit 15 for estimating the position of the wireless communication instrument RD as a first estimated position RD1 on the basis of the estimated distances of three or more wireless access points; a second position estimation unit 16 for estimating that a point on a circumference RD2, with an estimated distance De3 as its radius, centering on the wireless access point AP3 whose receive strength is maximum is the position of the wireless communication instrument RD; and a final position estimation unit 17 for estimating that the intersection of a semi-straight line passing through the first estimated position RD1, with the AP3 as its one end, and the circumference RD2 is the position of the wireless communication instrument RD.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
