Abstract:
To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition that contains a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having reverse wavelength dispersibility or low wavelength dispersibility, which can be vertically oriented without a vertical orientation film.SOLUTION: The present invention is a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing: a) a polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups and satisfying formula (I): Re(450nm)/Re(550nm)<1.0 (where Re(450nm) represents an in-plane phase difference at a wavelength of 450 nm when the polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups is oriented on a substrate in such a way that the long-axis direction of molecules is substantially parallel to the substrate, and Re(550nm) represents an in-plane phase difference at a wavelength of 550 nm when the polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups is oriented on the substrate in such a way that the long-axis direction of molecules is substantially parallel to the substrate; and b) a vertical orientation-inducing polymer having a constitutional unit of general formula (A-1).SELECTED DRAWING: None
