Abstract:
To provide novel MUC5AC production inhibitors useful for suppressing excessive airway mucus production.SOLUTION: The MUC5AC production inhibitor contains a compound represented by the following formula (1) or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. In the formula, R1, R2, and R3 independently represent a monovalent organic group, a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, and the like. p represents an integer from 0 to 4, q represents an integer from 0 to 5, and r represents an integer from 0 to 5. The MUC5AC production inhibitor inhibits the production of MUC5AC in airway epithelial tissues.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
