Abstract:
To provide a display unit and a display method that improves uniformity (degree of uniformity) of a light quantity distribution at or near an end in a sub-scanning direction (for example, horizontal scanning direction in two-dimensional scanning) on a surface to be scanned when the surface is scanned with uniform light so as to improve image quality, and provide a head-up display and a vehicle.SOLUTION: When a small area, of a plurality of small areas, which is located closer to a center part in a main scanning direction of a drawing area is determined as a first small area, and a small area located closer to an end in the main scanning direction of the drawing area as a second small area, and the brightness of the first small area and the brightness of the second small area in drawing data are the same, a light source control unit controls a light source, with two-dimensional scanning, so that the distribution of the intensity of light applied from the light source to the first small area and the distribution of the intensity of light applied from the light source to the second small area become different from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
