Abstract:
To provide a communication apparatus capable of performing abnormality detection while suppressing an influence upon a service in operation.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a communication apparatus which communicates with an external device over a network, comprising: a control unit which generates a packet; a first transfer unit which transfers a sent packet using a protocol corresponding to a data link layer; and a second transfer unit which transfers the packet transferred from the first transfer unit using a protocol corresponding to a physical layer. The control unit generates a communication confirmation packet for confirming a communication on a communication channel inside of the communication apparatus. The first transfer unit includes a port which is connected to the network, and a pair of communication confirmation ports connected without interposing the network. The control unit confirms the communication of the communication channel by sending out the communication confirmation packet via one of the pair of communication confirmation ports and receiving the communication confirmation packets returned via one and the other of the pair of communication confirmation ports.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
