Abstract:
To provide an operation control method and an operation control apparatus which are capable of suppressing the occurrence of unnecessary steering in an avoidance motion of the vehicle itself.SOLUTION: An operation control method includes: identifying an obstacle that can be passed when a vehicle itself travels on a present target travel route, on the basis of information obtained from a sensor for detecting a situation surrounding the vehicle itself; calculating a first distance to the obstacle from the vehicle itself when the obstacle is identified; calculating an avoidance amount necessary for the vehicle itself to avoid the obstacle according to the first distance; correcting the target travel route of the vehicle itself according to the avoidance amount; and controlling traveling of the vehicle itself on the basis of the corrected target travel route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
