Abstract:
To provide a flow control valve capable of reducing a rotational drive torque of a valve element.SOLUTION: A flow control valve 4 provided in an engine cooling circuit includes: a housing 40 that has a valve element accommodation portion 43, a main communication hole 44, and an auxiliary communication hole 46 through which a fluid flows between the valve element accommodation portion and a radiator provided in the engine cooling circuit; a valve element 50 that has a fluid inflow portion 54, a main opening and an auxiliary opening; a drive mechanism 60 that rotationally drives the valve element; and a seal member 76. When the valve element is rotationally driven, the valve element is regulated: at a first rotational position where the main communication hole and the main opening, and the auxiliary communication hole and the auxiliary opening do not overlap each other, respectively; at a second rotational position where the main communication hole and the main opening overlap each other while the auxiliary communication hole and the auxiliary opening do not overlap each other, and fluid leaks out via a gap between the main communication hole and the auxiliary communication hole; and at a third rotational position where the main communication hole and the main opening, and the auxiliary communication hole and the auxiliary opening overlap each other, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
