Abstract:
To configure a circuit for cooling with high flexibility in a cutting tool, and to improve a cooling property of the tool.SOLUTION: A cutting tool 1 is equipped with a holder 2, an insert 3, and a throwaway chip 4. The holder 2 is provided with a chip fixing portion 21 having an attaching surface 21a at a tip end portion, and has a supply passage 24 leading cooling fluid to the attaching surface 21a. The insert 3 is installed on the attaching surface 21a of the chip fixing portion 21, and has a bottom surface 3a contacted with the attaching surface 21a, a front surface 3b on an opposite side to the bottom surface 3a, and opening surfaces 3e and 3f that do not contact with the holder 2. The insert 3 has a plurality of discharge passages 31 receiving the cooling fluid from the supply passage 24 on the bottom surface 3a, and leading the same to the front surface 3b and the opening surfaces 3e and 3f. The throwaway chip 4 is detachably fixed to the front surface 3b of the insert 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
