Abstract:
To adjust a degree of compression with one control over a vacuum tube.SOLUTION: A compressor according to the present invention includes a vacuum tube and a control voltage generation unit. The vacuum tube includes a filament that emits thermoelectron, a grid that inputs a signal to be amplified, and an anode. When a potential of an envelope of an input signal becomes high, the control voltage generation unit sets supply voltage applied to the anode through a predetermined resistor to be constant or low. The control voltage generation unit includes an envelope generation unit, a compression setting unit, and a voltage control unit. The envelope generation unit generates an envelope for the input signal. The compression setting unit sets a degree of compression according to a user's operation. The voltage control unit sets the supply voltage on the basis of the envelope and the set degree of compression.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
