Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a urea compound, which can be produced at a lower pressure and is energy-saving because a large amount of solvent is not required to be distilled off in a post-treatment (purification treatment).SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a cyclic urea compound, which comprises: mixing a substance containing 60 to 100 wt.% of an ethylenediamine derivative or a propylenediamine derivative in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst, specifically, cerium (IV) oxide, and carbon dioxide under a pressurized condition of 0.3 to 2 MPa (gauge pressure); and performing heat treatment at 130 to 250°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
