Abstract:
To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, enabling the current temperature of a catalyst for exhaust emission control to be more precisely estimated while considering the long-term deterioration of the catalyst.SOLUTION: The control device for the internal combustion engine is provided which estimates the current temperature of the catalyst for exhaust emission control, mounted in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine, while correcting the current temperature of the catalyst to be lower as the long-term deterioration of the catalyst goes worse. As a result, there is no possibility of estimating the current temperature of the catalyst of which the long-term deterioration goes wrong, to be unreasonably high, and so that there is no need to unnecessarily increase in the injection amount of fuel to the catalyst and execute the enrichment of an air-fuel ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
