Abstract:
To provide excellent intestinal epithelial-like cells expressing drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters applicable for pharmacokinetic assessment, more specifically, intestinal epithelial-like cells having properties closer to those of primary cultured human intestinal epithelial cells that are difficult to obtain, and to provide production methods thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention is characterized by the monolayer culturing of organoid-derived cells. As a result of analyzing the obtained monolayer film, drug-metabolizing enzymes (each CYP) and drug transporters (PEPT1, MDR1), and the like possessed by small intestinal epithelial cells were expressed and excellent intestinal epithelial-like cells that also have a tight junction function were obtained. From the above, intestinal epithelial-like cells that can be used for pharmacokinetic evaluation and/or drug toxicity evaluation can be efficiently produced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
