Abstract:
To provide a developing device that can discharge an excess developer with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A developing device 50 comprises: a developer container 51 that includes a partition part 52 partitioning an internal space into a first storage chamber 53 and a second storage chamber 54 to allow circulation of developer; and a variable member 58 that varies the opening area of a communication port provided in the partition part 52 to cause the developer to flow from the first storage chamber 53 to the second storage chamber 54. The first storage chamber 52 is provided with a discharge part 51b that discharges the developer to the downstream side of the communication port in a conveyance direction of the developer conveyed in the first storage chamber 53. When the amount of the developer conveyed in the first storage chamber 53 becomes equal to or more than a predetermined value, the variable member 58 is pressed by the developer and is moved to reduce the opening area of the communication port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
