Abstract:
To accurately calculate the charge reserve amount of a negative electrode in a battery system including a nickel-metal hydride battery.SOLUTION: A battery system 2 includes a nickel-metal hydride battery and an ECU 100 that controls charging and discharging of the nickel-metal hydride battery. The ECU 100 calculates the amount of discharged electricity indicating the integrated value of the discharge current of the nickel-metal hydride battery, and further calculates a ΔSOC of the nickel-metal hydride battery at a predetermined time. Then, the ECU 100 calculates the charge reserve amount of the nickel-metal hydride battery from the temperature of the nickel-metal hydride battery, the amount of discharged electricity, and the ΔSOC.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
