Abstract:
To provide a means for manufacturing a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell without using a surfactant.SOLUTION: One aspect of the present invention relates to a manufacturing method for a gas diffusion layer, comprising: a plasma emission step of emitting plasma to a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) to obtain a cleavage product of PTFE; a hydrogen radical reaction step of reacting the cleavage product of PTFE with a hydrogen radical; an oxygen- or nitrogen-containing radical reaction step of reacting the cleavage product of PTFE with an oxygen- or nitrogen-containing radical to obtain a PTFE derivative having a hydrophilic group; a paste preparation step of mixing the PTFE derivative having the hydrophilic group with water and carbon to obtain a paste; and a coating step of applying the paste to a surface of a base material to obtain a gas diffusion layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
