Abstract:
To provide a method for inexpensively recovering valuable metal by using a long-life refractory material, and a long-life refractory material that is used when recovering valuable metal.SOLUTION: A method for recovering valuable metal including the following processes: a process of preparing a charging material including at least valuable metal and lithium (Li); and a process of applying oxidation treatment and reducing/melting treatment to the charging material to obtain a reduced object including molten alloy and slag, in which an object to be treated is heated in a heating furnace when performing the reducing/melting treatment, and the heating furnace has a magnesia refractory material containing a carbonaceous component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
