Abstract:
To highly accurately detect whether or not bridging occurs in a shaft furnace.SOLUTION: A monitoring method for a shaft furnace executes: a step (S1) of appropriately loading electrolytic copper (200) from a loading port (11A) of a shaft furnace (11) in such a manner that a lamination level of the electrolytic copper (200) in the furnace is settled within a predetermined range, appropriately adjusting an air flow of a burner in such a manner that a temperature in the furnace is settled within a predetermined range, supplying molten copper (300) poured from the shaft furnace (11) to a continuous casting line (2) while storing it into a retention furnace (12), and detecting a decrease rate of a molten copper level stored in the retention furnace (12); a step (S2) of detecting an increase rate of a total sum of the air flows of the burner; a step (S3) of detecting a time interval at which the electrolytic copper (200) is loaded into the shaft furnace (11); and steps of making determinations (S14 and S15) about whether or not bridging of the electrolytic copper (200) occurs in the shaft furnace (11) on the basis of the decrease rate, the increase rate and the time interval (S11-S13).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
