Abstract:
To provide an obstacle detection device and a driving support system to improve detection accuracy of an obstacle that may come into contact with a mobile body.SOLUTION: An obstacle detection device includes: a first acquisition unit which acquires object information about objects existing around a mobile body, the object information being generated based on information acquired by a plurality of distance measuring sensors mounted on the mobile body; a second acquisition unit which acquires mobile body information about the mobile body; a determination unit which determines whether or not the object is an obstacle that may come into contact with the mobile body based on the object information and the mobile body information; and a generation unit which generates obstacle information about the obstacle. The object information includes object position information indicating a position of the object and relative speed information indicating a relative speed of the object with respect to the mobile body. The mobile body information includes mobile body speed information indicating the speed of the mobile body and predicted route information indicating a predicted route that is a future movement route of the mobile body. The determination unit determines whether or not the object is an obstacle based on the object position information, the relative speed information, the mobile body speed information, and the predicted route information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
