Abstract:
To provide a paper sheet identification device capable of correctly identifying specific numbers even if the specific numbers using different font patterns are printed on paper sheets.SOLUTION: A paper sheet identification device 1 includes: an identification unit 12 that identifies a kind of a paper sheet; a determination unit 131 that determines a photo pattern of the paper sheet whose kind is identified by the identification unit 12 from at least one photo pattern stored by a storage unit 14 on the basis of a second region set outside a first region including at least a part of a specific number in an image obtained by imaging the paper sheet; and a character detection unit 132 that reads a template associated with the photo pattern determined by the determination unit 131 from the storage unit 14 to detect a plurality of characters included in the specific number.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
