Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to run an automobile even though various disturbances are exerted to the automobile, by enabling the sum total of longitudinal moments of wheels to be externally controlled, and by also enabling the sum total of lateral moments of these wheels to be externally controlled. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 9 is manipulated to change the advancing direction or attitude of an automobile, a device 18 determines desired values in the attitude of the automobile and in the advancing direction thereof in accordance with an input from the steering wheel 9, and these desired values are delivered into a control signal generating device 11 which compares the present advancing direction and attitude of the automobile with data detected by a detector 10 in order to determine optimum camber and steering angles and operates mechanisms 15, 16 for changing the camber angle of the automobile and a steering device 8 in accordance with the above-mentioned optimum angles. Even if the advancing direction and attitude of the automobile vary due to disturbances, the variations are detected by the detector 10 and the device 11 issues a correcting signal to change a camber angle.
