Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a small sized apparatus and achieve energy saving and further to provide a carrier for use in a biological waste water treatment, wherein its manufacturing process is simple, inexpensive, and adequate from an industrial point of view by burning excessive sludges produced in an activated sludge waste water treatment for waste water generated in manufacturing multipurpose filled papers. CONSTITUTION:Excessive sludges produced in an activated sludge waste water treatment for waste water generated in the manufacturing process of multipurpose filled papers are burned in a rotary kiln at a temperature of about 900 deg.C or lower for a period of 30 minutes - 2 hours to prepare a porous body in the form of black granular object having a dimension of 0.6 - 1mm. Said porous body can be used as a carrier for use in a fluidized bed biological waste water treatment. This carrier can be used for a long period of time without being collapsed, wherein pores are formed, without being interrupted, as far as the interior of the body of the carrier, allowing water to get thereinto, requiring no troublesome pretreatment, bringing about an excellent effect such as decoloring and deodorization functions.
