Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve image display quality and convenience by varying a dynamic illumination period so that the movement period of one picture element of an image is equal to the dynamic illumination period when moving the image displayed on a display means. CONSTITUTION:The dynamic illumination period is determined with a variable period timing signal outputted by a dynamic illumination period control means 7 and a display control means 6 controls the display operation of a display means 5 in synchronism with the timing signal. This display operation is carried out by varying the dynamic illumination period so that the movement period of one picture element of the image is equal to the dynamic illumination period. Therefore, when the image on the display means 5 is moved at a desired speed, the dynamic illumination period can be varied matching the moving speed. Consequently, the convenience and image display quality are improved.
