Abstract:
PURPOSE:To considerably facilitate the operation of a personal computer, a word processor etc., by inputting the name of a function which a user intends to execute in Japanese or a foreign language. CONSTITUTION:An input processing part 3 processing character data and prescribed key information related to the character input of a shift key and the like, an input holding means 4 preserving inputted character data and an editing control means 8 are provided. When the input processing part 3 judges that a character which is time sequentially inputted from an input means 1 and which is preserved in the input holding means 4 is defined as a character string, character data is transferred to a data processing part 6. When the editing control means 8 is started, the control part 8 is constituted in such a way that it refers to the character string, decodes the character string and executes an editing processing. Thus, a data input, the input of the function of the name and the input of parameter information required at the time of executing the function can be executed without discriminating the designation of a mode.
