Abstract:
PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce a turn-back false signal, and to remarkably improve the resolution by executing ideal picture element staggering, in a CCD camera to which picture element staggering is executed. CONSTITUTION:Image pickup is executed by one set of CCDs 24R-1, 24R-2; 24G-1, 24G-2; and 24B-1, 24B-2 in which an image of a body to be photographed is resolved into red, green and blue color images by a three-color separation prism 21, and also, the red image, the green image and the blue image are resolved into two red images, green images and blue images, respectively by two-split prisms 23R, 23G and 23B, respectively, and the images of the same color are subjected to picture element staggering. Subsequently, a color signal from one CCD is delayed by delaying circuits 26R, 26G and 26B by the time corresponding to about half of a picture element pitch, and thereafter, mixed with a non-delay color signal in mixing circuits 27R, 27G and 27B in each color channel and a red signal a green signal and a blue signal to which picture element staggering is executed ideally are obtained. By mixing these color signals in a prescribed ratio, a turn-back false signal is suppressed, and a luminance signal having high resolution can be obtained.
