Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a new compound having a high effect to absorb long wavelength UV rays and medium wavelength UV rays, exhibiting good solubility in a silicon oil, and useful for the uses of cosmetics as an UV ray absorber. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I {R<1> is H, OH, (substituted) 1-10C alkyl, alkoxy; R<2> is R<3>3Si-CnH2n-(O)d-[R<3> is (substituted) 1-3C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl; n is 2-6; d is 0, 1]; a is 0-5; b is 0, 1; c is 0, 1; b + c is 1,2}. For example, a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained by addition- reacting an organohydrogensilane of formula R<3>3SiH to an acetophenone compound represented by the formula III and containing an alkenyloxy group or alkenyl group having a double bond at the end, further condensing the synthesized acetophenone compound having an organosilicon group with a benzaldehyde compound of formula IV under a basic condition.
