Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize various forms of synthetic displays by displaying various picture data after synthesizing them based on a designated synthesizing ratio. CONSTITUTION:A signal selector 301 of a synthesizing part 112 selects one of pictures A and B based on the mask information 114. The data on both pictures A and B added together by a signal adder 302 are averaged by a 1/2-circuit 303 and supplied to one of two input sides of a signal selector 304. For instance, the picture data selected by the information 114 is outputted to a display device for superposition of both pictures A and B when a signal line 351 is kept at level '0'. While both pictures A and B are transmitted for synthetic display when the line 351 is kept at level '1'. Then the line 351 is controlled so that a picture of the average value is selected at a contour area if the contour is too conspicuous. In such a way, the unnaturalness can be eliminated at the contour parts of a picture.
