Abstract:
PURPOSE:To hold the loss of an optical fiber over a long period of time and to improve a response speed by fixing a stress imparting member at the point of the time when the stress imparting member arrives at the front side in the moving direction from a position where a bending loss is imparted to the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:An object to be detected is absorbed in a swelling member 4 and the member 4 expands rapidly when the object to be detected enters a case 5 from a detecting hole 6. The stress imparting member 2 is moved upward in this way and the optical fiber 1 is pushed to bend. The object to be detected infilters the inside of the case 5. A receiving member 13 is pushed up by the imparting member 2 via the optical fiber 1 when the swelling member 4 expands further. The pressing force of the imparting member 2 overcomes the outward energizing force of a fixing member 14 and the fixing member 14 is pushed to bend by the holding member 15, by which the receiving member 13 is moved toward the upper part of a space 11. A fixing pawl 16 at the front end of the fixing member 14 is engaged with an engaging recessed part 17 of the imparting member 2. The imparting member 2 is fixed to the receiving member 13 in tight contact therewith in the state of pushing and bending the optical fiber 1 in this way, by which the bending loss of the optical fiber 1 is maintained.
