Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enlarge treating capacity by providing a plurality of contact aeration tanks to the downstream side of an anaerobic filter bed layer and making the density of contact material in the contact aeration tank of the upstream side thinner than the density of contact material in the contact aeration tank of the downstream side and also always circulating and returning the water to be treated to the anaerobic filter bed layer from the contact aeration tanks. CONSTITUTION:A septic tank is constituted by providing an anaerobic filter bed layer N, a contact aeration tank E consisting of a first chamber E1 of the contact aeration tank and a second chamber E2 thereof and successively a precipitation tank P in this order. The density of contact material C1 of the contact aeration tank in the upstream side is made thinner than the density of contact material C2 in the downstream side. Therefore there are no possibilities so that microorganisms are excessively fixed to the contact material C1 and clogging is caused in the contact aeration tank E1 of the upstream side. Therefor flow of water to be treated is excellently held. On the other hand, though the concentration of organic substance in the water to be treated is lowered in the contact aeration tank E2 of the downstream side as the water to be treated goes downstream. treating capacity for reducing BOD is excellently held.
