Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically adjust color balance in all density areas by the color balance adjusting device of a full-color copying machine, a color printer, etc. CONSTITUTION:A high-density area adjusting device 50H detects the toner density values YH of high-density areas of yellow, magenta, and cyan by an infrared sensor 26 while a light source lamp 14A is OFF and a blank lamp 19a is ON, a comparing circuit 52 compares the values with the reference values AH, BH, and CH of the high-density areas of the respective colors, and a grid voltage XH when they match the reference values is stored as an optimum value in a memory 53. A low-density area adjusting device, on the other hand, detects the respective toner density values YL of the low-density areas of yellow, magenta, and cyan by the infrared sensor 26 while the light sources lams are turned OFF and the optimum grid voltage adjusted by the high-density area adjusting device 50H is applied to an electrostatic charger 19, the comparing circuit 52 compares them with the reference values of the low-density areas of the respective colors, and a lamp voltage when they match the reference values is stored as an optimum value in the memory 53.
