Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of an air motor in the air motor in air tools by keeping airtightness between the blades and the inside peripheral surface of a cylinder only in the expansion process during the rotation of a rotor, and reducing the contact area between both the blades and the inside peripheral surface as much as possible in other process to reduce the frictional resistance due to unnecessary contact. CONSTITUTION:In an air motor A in air tools, in which a rotor 2 into which plural blades 3-1 to 3-4 are inserted and fitted such that the blades can make frequent appearances, is provided in a cylinder provided with air inlet ports 10 and air outlet ports 11, 12 so that the rotor can freely turn by the air supply into the cylinder, the inside peripheral surfaces at the positions of the air inlet ports 10 and the air outlet ports 11, 12 are ground respectively to produce steps against the inside peripheral surface and thus form recessed parts 13, 14. As a result, at the positions of the air inlet ports and the air outlet ports, the tips of the blades are slidably guided and in contact with the non-ground surfaces except the recessed parts. Thus, the friction coefficient and wear of the blades are reduced, the reduction in vibration and noise, the prolongation of service life of blades, and higher efficiency of the air motor can be achieved.
