Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner, capable of saving power consumption, facilitated in using while coping with the problems of environment and capable of utilizing old facilities effectively. CONSTITUTION:A terminal unit 30 is installed in respective air-conditioning objective areas while second refrigerant, transferred by a heat transfer line 20, is utilized to carry out air conditioning in every air-conditioning objective areas. Refrigerant systems are separated by a refrigerant-to-refrigerant heat exchanger 13 whereby the use of HFC refrigerant is permitted not depending on the type of a central heat generating machine 10. Heat energy is stored utilizing mid-night electric power into a heat storing tank 32 provided in a terminal unit 30 and air conditioning is effected by the stored heat without using the central heat source machine 10 to contrive the reduction of a running cost. On the other hand, the second refrigerant is transferred through natural circulation utilizing two-phase thermal loop between the refrigerant-to-refrigerant heat exchanger 13 and the terminal units 30 and between a fan coil 31 and the heat storing tank 32 as well as the terminal units 30 to save the power for transferring the refrigerant.
