Abstract:
PURPOSE:To constantly execute an exact character recognition by deciding a candidate for each character with the use of effectiveness data to express the effectiveness of the candidate of each character from the relative relation of the attribute of the candidate of an adjacent character. CONSTITUTION:A title device is constituted of a dictionary 1, a collating means 2, a data table 3 and a candidate deciding means 4. The candidate deciding means 4 decides the candidate for each character by reading out the corresponding effectiveness data by indexing the data table from the collating means 2 by the candidate data. Thus, the exact character recognition can be executed, even when the read character is largely forced out from the character frame of a size corresponding to one character and connected with an adjacent character.
