Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase cycle life and capacity by using a negative electrode in which a conductive porous layer impregnated with an electrolyte is interposed between a lithium plate and a base metal plate, and the base metal and lithium are electrochemically alloyed. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 2 is arranged between a negative current collector 3 and a separator 7 from the negative current collector 3 side in order when a battery is assembled. Namely, an aluminium plate 11, fibrous stainless steel 12 in which a nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving 1 mole/liter lithium perchlorate in a mixed solvent consisting of propylene carbonate and 1,2-dimethoxyethane is impregnated, and a lithium plate 13 are arranged in order. After assembled, a battery is produced by being left as it is for about one week to alloy lithium with aluminium. By alloying, the surface of nonalloyed aluminium is roughed and the surface area of the alloy in contact with the roughed surface is engaged and the capacity of the battery is increased.
