Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain highly accurate automatic brightness adjustment by obtaining a brightness adjustment signal white an incident infrared ray is defocused for an invalid scanning period of a scanning mirror. CONSTITUTION:A timing signal from a timing generating circuit 13 is used to activate a scanning mirror 3 and a chopper control circuit 12 and to control a scanning timing of the scanning mirror 3 and a rotation timing of a transmission type chopper 10 respectively so that the scanning mirror is set to a valid scanning period when an optical path is opposite to notch parts 10c1-10C4 of the transmission type chopper 10 on one hand and the scanning mirror 3 is set to an invalid scanning period when an optical path is opposite to infrared ray penetrating members 10a1-10a4 of the transmission type chopper 10 on the other hand respectively. An infrared ray for the invalid scanning period (30%) set to the out of focus state and an infrared ray for the valid scanning period (70%) in the normal state are fed to an A/D converter 7 via a photodetector 5 and an amplifier 6, A/D-converted and the resulting signal is written in a digital memory 8.
