Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain improvements in recording properties, repetition durability, storage stability, etc., by incorporating a soluble org. macrocyclic pigment in a recording layer of an information recording medium which contains a polymeric liq. crystal compd. CONSTITUTION:A polymeric liq. crystal compd. (e.g., compd. of the formula; Y=20) capable of exhibiting a liq. crystal phase selected from among nematic, smectic, chiral smectic and discotic phases and a soluble org. macrocyclic pigment (e.g., soluble phthalocyanine) selected from among soluble phthalocyanine, naphthalocyanine, porphyrin, tetrabenzoporphyrin and the like are dissolved in a solvent such as 1,1,2-trichloroethane and mixed to obtain a soln. The soln. is applied to, e.g., an oriented polyimide film 2 disposed on a glass substrate 1, and dried to thereby form a recording layer 3. A composite layer comprising a substrate 1, a reflecting layer 4 and an oriented film 2 is deposited thereon.
