Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the data processing time and to expand functions by converting data from a system memory into data of the same constitution with an image scanner, and switching and outputting the converted data and data from the image scanner side to a contour detection processor side. CONSTITUTION:For binary image data input except the image scanner, one-word, 16-bit data is inputted to a system bus interface part 16 and converted by a word/byte conversion part 17 into 8-bit byte data, which has the same data constitution with the binary image input data from the image scanner; and a multiplexer 18 switches the converted data with the data from the image scanner side. Namely, this interface inputs the data from the system memory 8 through a system bus interface part 16, converts the data into the same form with the data from the image scanner, and switches and outputs those data to the contour detection processor side through the multiplexer 18. Consequently, even binarized images which are not from the image scanner can automatically be inputted as well as the image scanner without using any memory dedicated to images.
