Title:
【発明の名称】注射器用安全装置
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2814983
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
A backstop (10) device to prevent inadvertent withdrawal of a stopper (20) from the open proximal (19) end of a syringe barrel (14). The backstop (10), mounted to a syringe flange (22), includes a pair of spaced apart plates (30,32) located on either side of the flange (22). Both plates (30,32) include respective apertures (34,36) accessible through lead openings (42,40) formed through the plates (30,32). The bottom aperture (34) is formed for snug contact with the syringe barrel (14), while the upper aperture (36) includes a ridge (38) engageable with the interior of the syringe barrel (14) adjacent the open proximal end (19). The top aperture (36) and ridge (38) together present a smaller passageway than the diameter of the stopper (20), preventing inadvertent removal thereof. The backstop (10) can be placed on the syringe (12) regardless of the presence or absence of the plunger (16).
