Abstract:
The circuit produces the extreme voltage (Vmax) of several input voltages. For each input, a bipolar transistor (Q10,Q10') with the input voltage applied to its base. Its emitter is connected to a common output, providing the extreme voltage. A current source (22,24) polarises the transistor emitter. The transistor current is maintained constant. Each input voltage (V1) may have a switch (Q12,Q13) to disconnect the first source from the first transistor when not conducting. A second similar transistor (Q11) may be connected in parallel, base and collector to first transistor, with emitter connected to a second voltage (GND, 20), half the first supply. A third transistor (Q12) may be connected collector to first emitter and base to second emitter, with a fourth (Q13) as a differential.
