Title:
【発明の名称】発光体
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2866933
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminous intensity by applying a mechanical stress to a fullerene provided with such a feature that it emits white light when irradiated with argon laser beams or when an electric current flows therethrough. SOLUTION: A fullerene C60 film with a thickness of 1-10μm is formed by vacuum deposition on a base plate comprising, e.g. fused silica, a slide glass, Pyrex, a silicon wafer, an alkali halide, a plastic, or a ceramic. A mechanical stress is applied with a sharp edge of, e.g. a knife, a needle or a glass cutter to the formed C60 film to produce scratches on the surface thereof. The C60 film with scratches is irradiated with argon laser beams having a wavelength of 514.5nm to 30mW or allowed to pass an electric current therethrough to cause the emission of white light having a vary wide wavelength distribution (600-4,500nm) over a visible light to infrared region, with a light intensity peak in a wavelength region from 1,500 to 2,000nm.
